What is Ink Density

CMYK printing layers for colored inks together to create a vast array of different colors. However, a common issue that crops up during printing has artwork that has ink which is too dense is mostly an issue with blacks set to 400 percent.


Which is 100 percent of cyan magenta yellow and black might look like a beautiful solid black on your screen, but when it comes to printing the ink, can start to puddle and cause appearance issues it will also have trouble drying and might smudge.


When being packed for a beautiful rich black, use recommend setting your black to 100% and cyan to 40%. When it comes to colors, suggest that you keep your total ink for centage under 300 %.

Avoid your colors becoming muddy and so that your print can dry correctly.
